Liquid Penetrant Testing

Liquid Penetrant Packs a Punch!

Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method. Used for detecting surface-breaking defects like cracks, pores, and seams. Involves applying a liquid dye (penetrant) to the surface. The dye penetrates any open surface defects. Excess dye is removed after a dwell time. Developer is applied to pull the dye out of defects and make them visible. Commonly used on high-energy piping, drums, and pressure vessels. Helps identify defects that could affect integrity or safety. Requires clean, smooth surfaces for accurate results.
